Laser Dentistry

One of the most recent – and dramatic – improvements in dental technology is laser dentistry. The laser is used in all aspects of dentistry: preventive care, restorative care and cosmetic enhancements. Replacing the drill in many cases, lasers greatly improve your comfort, reduce anxiety and enhance preventive care.

The use of lasers in dentistry allows us to care for your teeth and gums, quickly, effectively and painlessly. With laser dentistry we can prepare your teeth for restoration without drilling; sculpt your gums for a wider, brighter smile, treat periodontal disease and even whiten your teeth. Lasers heal as they work, allowing you to feel better – and look better – fast.

CEREC®

CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Translated, it means that we can quickly and economically restore damaged teeth using a durable ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth in your mouth. And these tooth colored fillings mean that you no longer have to be embarrassed by the discoloration and cracking caused by amalgam fillings.

Using a special camera, we take a picture of the tooth. We work from this photo, which is actually a pin-sharp optical impression of the tooth. Computer aided design technology helps us design the restoration from the optical impression. Then computer aided manufacturing creates an extremely precise restoration, using a high-speed diamond bur and a disk working simultaneously to mill the restoration out of a solid block of ceramic material. Finally, we bond the newly milled restoration to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.
