Q.

"Why do I need x-rays?"

A.

"X-rays play an invaluable role in the diagnosis of dental problems.  A visual examination reveals only about 20% of what is really happening in the areas of potential infection including cavities, bone loss, tumors, and unerupted teeth."

Q.

"What type of x-rays do
  you use?"

A.

"Masterpiece Smiles uses digital (computer generated and developed) x-rays which provide the benefits of extremely low radiation, immediate viewing, and they can be magnified for the clearest diagnosis."

Q.

"Will I ever need a full-mouth x-ray?"

A.

"Because teeth can change dramatically in a year's time, Masterpiece Smiles recommends a digital panographic x-ray of patients every three to five years.  The panograph rotates around the head to offer a flat view of the entire mouth in a single x-ray.  Panographic x-rays give our doctors a more complete view of a patient's jaw joint (TMJ), sinuses, teeth and supporting structures and how they interrelate to cause dental problems.  This process is very quick and comfortable.
